GG weekend news..
(Article Posted: 2010-02-23)
The weekend started with the infamous ‘Tough One’ Extreme Enduro on Saturday which was won easy by Knighter.
His brother Juan Knight flew the GAS GAS flag and finished a respectable 7th overall on his faithful CC300..
The Spanish GG Rider Xavi Leon was a ‘nonstarter’ so we lent our CC250 to DBR test-man Geoff Walker who was enjoying his maiden gasser outing until he wrenched his already dodgy knee and was gutted to retire in pain.
Congrats to WOR who organised yet another superb T1.
Steve Plains GGUK Enduro Riders Ashley Wood, Bradley King and Charlie Evans opted out of the Tough One because they chose to spend the whole weekend training and testing in sand ready for the start of the BEC this coming weekend.
GGUK spannerman Luke Meredith has returned to MX for 2010 but plans to do a few Enduros in-between his MX calendar. He was also out on Saturday getting used to the new GG ECF2504T which he will ride this weekend at the Muntjac in the Expert Class.
We will have Ashley in Championship E2, Brad in Champ E3, Charlie in E3 Expert and Luke in E1-4T Expert.
Wakey wakey Sunday morning to more annoying snow L . This forced the YMSA Trial to be cancelled and also affected many events.
The first round of the Novogar Trials Championship (Wallace Cup Trial) went ahead unaffected but some Northern riders including JSTGG Riders Dan Thorpe, Katy Sunter and Dan Farrer could reach the event because of the snow.
The Expert Class was won by SAM HASLAM (JSTGG) on 7 marks with Sam Connor in second. Next best JST GG Teamster was Ross Danby who only dropped 13 and finished 6th place overall at the finish. Ben Morphett rode at the back of the entry and was the overall winner.
Most Nationals are relatively low scoring for the Top lads which makes for a very close event. Concentration is the key.
James Dabill is still in Spain training and riding in better weather, he returns to the miserable UK weather this week to prepare for the start of the British Trials Championship in two weeks time.
This coming weekend there’s plenty more action with Round 1 of the Youth A+B British Trials Championship, Round 1 of the British Enduro Championship and Round 2 of the Novogar Championship.
We have Riders at all these events so more news next Monday.

Shirty
